Trattmann Pinot Noir Reserve
Trattmann Pinot Noir Reserve
Classification
Alto Adige DOC
Production area
The grapes for this wine come from our best and oldest vineyards in the Mazon and Girlan subzones. These vineyards are particularly suitable thanks to the microclimatic conditions and the age of the vines, which they have shown for decades. Most of the grapes come from Mazon, where we find deep clay and limestone soils. The second part comes from our older vineyards in Girlan, where we find a moraine deposit on volcanic porphyry rock.
Winemaking
The harvest takes place manually in small containers for transport to the cellar. The grapes - 10% whole bunch vinified - are passed by gravity into stainless steel vats for fermentation (20-24 days). Once malolactic fermentation has taken place, the wine ages for 12 months in barriques and small wooden barrels (12 hl). This is followed by 8 months of aging in large wooden barrels (70 hl). Finally, the wine undergoes further refinement in the bottle for 8 months.
Sensory notes and suggestions
Ruby red color with light garnet shades. Intense and complex aromas with hints of ripe fruit, cherry and morello cherry. The wine is very delicate, vinous with excellent structure and persistence. Particularly suitable for roasts, game and spicy cheeses.
