Platt&Riegl Pinot Blanc
Platt&Riegl Pinot Blanc
Classification
Alto Adige DOC
Production area
For this wine we use the best grapes of the Pinot Blanc vine which are grown in the Oltradige at approx. 450 – 550 m above sea level, in well-ventilated vineyards. The different combination of production soils, from clay to limestone and gravel, give the wine a unique character.
Winemaking
The harvest takes place manually in small containers for transport to the cellar. After soft whole bunch pressing, racking takes place by natural sedimentation of the must. 50% of the must is fermented at a controlled temperature in stainless steel vats, and 50% is fermented in large oak barrels (50 hl.). After the alcoholic fermentation for the wooden part, the malolactic fermentation takes place. Aging on fine yeasts for 7 months.
Sensory notes and suggestions
Pinot Blanc produces compact bunches with small, greenish berries. It is the most widespread white grape variety in Girlan. Thanks to its delicate, fresh and at the same time full character, Platt&Riegl Pinot Bianco goes well with the most varied occasions. It pairs very well with appetizers and fish dishes and is much appreciated as an aperitif.
