Description
An indigenous grape variety from Alto Adige; it has a dark garnet red with violet reflections. Notes of violet, cinnamon and light hints of vanilla emerge on the nose; marked acidity and aromas of berries and black cherries on the palate.
Aging potential: 6 – 8 years.
Lagrein vine from old pergola plants.
Winemaking
Fermentation on the skins at 28-30° C in steel. Careful replacement of peels and juice for optimal color extraction. The wine ferments 1/3 in barriques and 2/3 in 35 hl wooden vats for approximately 12 months. After careful bottling, another 12 months of maturation in the bottle follows.

Pairing
Perfect as an accompaniment to South Tyrolean cuisine. Excellent with roast or grilled beef, lamb, game and cheeses.
