Laurin Lagrein Merlot
Laurin Lagrein Merlot
Classification
Alto Adige DOC
Production area
The grapes come partly from the Girlan area on the Oltradige hills, at a height of 450 - 500 m above sea level in well-ventilated vineyards, and partly from Bassa Atesina where we find sandy, warm and deep soils. These components form the basis for this cuvèe full of character.
Winemaking
The harvest takes place manually in small containers for transport to the cellar. After destemming, the must is carried under its own gravity into stainless steel vats for fermentation (12-15 days). Once malolactic fermentation has taken place, it is aged for 18 months in barriques and large oak barrels. After being assembled, the wine is aged for a further 3 months in the bottle, before being marketed.
Sensory notes and suggestions
The soft and velvety harmony of Lagrein and Merlot is further enriched by a delicate wood tone. The result is a pleasant, full and full-bodied red, with a modern character, which pairs exceptionally with grilled meat, game and spicy cheese.
