Small but amazing! And this is precisely how the Lagrein from the Waldgries estate in S. Maddalena presents itself. After having unfolded its aroma in large wooden barrels and after 50% of the grapes have been completely fermented, Lagrein is ready to fill the glass with its intense purple red, inlaid with purple reflections. A sweet bouquet inebriates the sense of smell, enveloped in scents of dark berries and chocolate aromas, harmonized by elegant spices. Its full-bodied structure and its pleasant play of acidity, harmonized by a delicate tannic texture, seduce the palate. That 'surprising' is explained precisely by its pleasantly persistent finish. Waldgries' Lagrein is the ideal wine to pair with braised or roast meat, game and spicy cheese.
