DESCRIPTION OF THE GATTINARA 'TRE VIGNE' TRAVAGLINI RED WINE

Gattinara “Tre Vigne” is a red wine that Travaglini launches on the market only in the best years . It is in fact one of the flagship products of the entire range, which, considering its coat of arms, cannot afford to leave the cellar walls unless in perfect condition, when the year in the vineyard and the quality of the grapes allow it to achieve perfect quality standards. The result is a bottle that is broad on the nose, where fruity sensations dominate, and solid in the mouth, thanks to significant tannins, perfect for accompanying structured first courses and second courses of red meat and game.

This “Tre Vigne” comes from the grapes of that red grape variety that is widely cultivated in Piedmont, Nebbiolo. The vines, trained with the Guyot system, grow within three historic vineyards owned by Gattinara, called "Alice", "Lurghe" and "Bogianette", within rocky soils, rich in mineral salts and iron , which contribute to giving the classic reddish color to the earth. The harvest takes place during the first ten days of October, and the must obtained from pressing the grapes ferments in stainless steel tanks for 15 days, at a controlled temperature. The refinement then follows, which takes place for 30 months in Slavonian oak barrels .

The “Tre Vigne” is a Gattinara which, in the glass, develops a bright and brilliant garnet colour. The fruity notes are the ones that first envelop the nose, then leaving room for touches that recall ash and more tertiary scents. When tasted, it has an excellent body, warm and round, with a well-sculpted tannic texture and a sip characterized by a light savory hint. A well-known and appreciated label, with which Gattinara makes inroads, with excellent scores, in Italian and international guides.
