Alas Gewürztraminer
Classification
Alto Adige DOC
Production area
Gewürztraminer takes its name from the wine-growing village of Termeno (German: "Tramin") in Bassa Atesina. The bunches are slightly red. At Egna and Montagna in Bassa Atesina, this vine finds optimal growth conditions. The light, warm soil and the sunny, slightly sloping slopes express themselves best in the glass.
Winemaking
The harvest takes place manually in small containers for transport to the cellar. After a brief maceration and whole bunch pressing, racking takes place through natural sedimentation of the must. Controlled temperature fermentation in stainless steel vats. Aging on fine yeasts in stainless steel tanks without malolactic fermentation for 6 months.
Sensory notes and suggestions
The intense and aromatic aroma and its full, soft character require dishes with a strong flavour. We recommend it in combination with shellfish, tasty cheeses and desserts such as strudel. Also interesting is the combination with spicy dishes or Asian-inspired sweet and sour creations.
