GRIES Lagrein Reserve

Description
Wine with a full, almost purple colour, it has intense aromas of violet, blackberry and black cherry and light notes of toasting, coffee and chocolate. Powerful and soft on the palate with young tannins.

Aging potential: 8 – 10 years.
Grape variety
Lagrein; 15 year old espalier plants.
Winemaking
15 days of fermentation on the skins with careful reassembly of the cap and subsequent maceration. The young wine then passes into large wooden barrels where it undergoes malolactic fermentation. Then the refinement takes place for approximately 16 months in barriques, followed by light filtration before bottling and subsequent maturation in the bottle for 10 months.

Its powerful structure makes it an excellent accompaniment for red meats, game, poultry and spicy cheese.
